This Friday, WMUC will be treated to a wonderful performance of experimental music.

Saturday, March 3rd – From 10 am to 4 pm in the Atrium of the Stamp Student Union, on campus here at the University of Maryland, over a dozen of the area’s best record dealers will have thousands of items to offer. LPs, 45s, albums, singles, CDs (yes, a few), every genre from disco to death metal… oldies, blues, psych, garage, funk, soul, hip-hop, r&b… you name it! Free admission! Just a few of our confirmed dealers:

Smash Records THE legendary shop, a DC punk institution, with a little bit of everything!

Yesterday & Today Records – former ‘MUCer Skip Groff’s famous selection of 45s and more – anything and everything!

I’ve just got word that some people are coming down from NYC for this event. So what’s your excuse? Don’t forget to bring some of your own records by, to sell and to trade!

Also on Sunday is the broadcast of the Maryland/Duke men’s basketball game at 12:30 PM. Go Terps!


WMUC’s OPEN HOUSE will be held on Feb. 5th and 6th at 7pm. This is your chance to show you’re a better DJ then all the current ones we have. Not sure if the spotlight is for you? Then get involved with engineering live shows, recording music, being a part of the street team, reviewing new CDs, doing sports broadcast, and so much more.

General Meetings

WMUC will begin holding weekly meetings every TUESDAY at 7pm. We will be discussing the activities of the station and planning events. This is a great way for all returning and new members to get involved. All members are encouraged to join.

More information regarding the Open House will be posted when more info is available (expect Mid-February).

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute

Join Dave Sisson of “Dave’s Record Collection” on Saturday, January 13th, 2007 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM as he features a tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the history of civil rights in America. This unique show features a blend of songs and speeches about a historical figure, and an emotional look back into the history of our country and key changes over the last 50 years.

Dave & Dominick’s Christmas Party – Saturday Dec. 23, 2006

Join Dave of Dave’s Record Collection and Dominick of Electric Candle Radio as they work to bring you the annual Dave and Dominick’s Christmas Party! It’s a six hour celebration of traditional (and non-traditional) songs and comedy for the Christmas season, including a generous portion of Bob Rivers’ Twisted Christmas along with the “Christmas Anthem”, Root Boy Slim’s “Christmas at K-Mart.” Catch the cheer from 3 to 9PM, Satuday, Dec. 23, 2006. “Turn on, tune in, and let us groove”.
